The CMO of the Nordic Aviation Group to become an MP at the Parliament of Estonia
Toomas Uibo, the current Head of Marketing, Communications and Sustainability at Xfly and Nordica airlines will be leaving his current position for that of an MP at Riigikogu, the Parliament of Estonia. The airline confirms it is actively looking for a new marketing and communications manager and is already holding interviews with candidates. The parliamentary elections were held on March the 5th in Estonia and the official results were declared yesterday, whereafter Uibo will move on to his new role.
Uibo describes looking back to his time spent in aviation with a positive vibe, confirming it is a very interesting and a dynamic industry to work in. “I have worked in aviation for 20 years as a flight instructor, a CMO as well as a management team member. I do not exclude my return to air transportation industry in the future as it’s a field I feel myself confident in. Thanks to a highly professional team, the company operates in profit and constantly expands its reach on international markets,” Uibo gives his comments.
“You will be surrounded by absolutely congenial colleagues and get a chance to embrace a Nordic work culture. The new CMO will have a possibility to continue what we have started by today,” Uibo promises. “Trust, getting things done, and adapting to new situations are the main values that help us achieve our goals here every day,” Uibo describes the post that awaits the new team member at the Nordic Aviation Group, employer to 700 people from over 30 nationalities. ”We assume that the candidates will have a proven record of successfully implemented projects in marketing. The ideal candidate should be a leader whose primary goal is to see his team succeed, not to talk about the passion for marketing and communications, being highly creative and an articulate, educated communicator to a similar stake,” Uibo calls upon marketing talents to file their candidacy.
Jan Palmér, the CEO of the company, comments on Uibo’s departure saying that the marketer has been a valuable member of the management team, a visionary and a unique marketing leader in many ways. “I appreciate Uibo’s sincerity and dedication in teaming-up for building the airline. The projects initiated by Uibo will be taken over by our new colleague,” the CEO says and adds Uibo invested a lot of effort and time into his fruitful work. “He contributed both to getting through the Covid-19 pandemic and above all to guiding the business to a quick recovery path and gaining a very good position on the European aviation market. As a member of the management team he was also behind establishing the Xfly Aviation Academy,” Palmer explains.
